Onsite Waste Water Protection

ONSITE WASTE WATER PROTECTION

Many residents in Jackson County use wells as their primary source of water and septic tanks to handle waste water.  For the safety of citizens and of the environment, Jackson County issues permits for and conducts inspections of wells and septic tanks.

Before beginning construction, you must apply for and obtain a well permit and/or septic system permit from the Jackson County Environmental Health.  All applications must be completed and include an applicable fee.  Once Jackson County Environmental Health has received all pieces of your application and the applicable fee, an Environmental Health Specialist will assist you with the permitting process.
