High Risk Perinatal Clinic
High Risk Perinatal Clinic is available to women who are at high risk for problems with pregnancy and who are referred by their health care provider. Appointments will include an evaluation by a physician who specializes in obstetrics and gynecology, a registered dietitian, a social worker and a nurse practitioner/registered nurse. Other members of the health team include community health assistant, lab personnel, maternal outreach workers and clerical personnel.
Prenatal Clinic
Prenatal Clinic is available to pregnant women. The prenatal appointment will include a comprehensive history and physical exam, PAP smear, breast exam and appropriate lab tests. HIV testing is offered to all patients. Patients are seen by a nurse practitioner, a registered nurse, and/or a physician. The prenatal health care team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, community health assistant, a nutritionist, social workers, maternal outreach workers and clerical personnel.
Family Planning Clinic
Women of childbearing age who need a form of birth control are eligible for Family Planning Clinic. The appointment includes a comprehensive history and complete physical examination, PAP smear and breast exam, and birth control methods, instruction, and discussion. Parental permission is not required for minors. Lab work includes urinalysis, hemoglobin and STD screening. Cost of Family Planning Service is based on sliding scale fee.
Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program
This clinic serves women 40 and over, who meet the financial guidelines of the program, who are uninsured, underinsured, or who have high insurance deductibles. The program provides tests at low or no cost to women who qualify. Clients may be referred or may make their appointments through the Adult Wellness Clinic at the Jackson County Department of Public Health.
