Jackson County Bike Rodeo at the Rec Center

The Jackson County Recreation Center in Cullowhee will host the Annual Jackson County Bike Rodeo on Saturday, May 5th from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. This is a free event for all Jackson County children. Children will participate in a variety of stations – bike safety checks, helmet inspections, learning to ride, bike skills courses, and group rides. A variety of door prizes will be given away at approximately 11:15 AM including 5 free bicycles, raffled off into age appropriate categories; participants must be present to win.

Many community partners are sponsoring the event—Jackson County Department of Parks and Recreation, Jackson County Department of Public Health, Active Routes to School, Safe Kids Jackson County, Jackson County Sherriff’s Office, Western Carolina University Bike Club, Western Carolina University Police Department, Western Carolina University Recreation Therapy, Western Carolina University Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management, Nantahala SORBA, Appalachian Funeral Services, Wilson Family Chiropractic, Woodmen of the World, Stanberry Insurance, Motion Makers Bike Shop, and Jackson County Schools.
