H1N1 Flu Vaccine
As of December 1, 2009
Due to the decline in requests for H1N1 in the CDC target groups, the Jackson County Department of Public Health is releasing the H1N1 vaccine to anyone who would like to be vaccinated.
We currently have limited supplies; but, we continue to get weekly shipments.
- We have shots for ages 6 months through adults.
- We have H1N1 flu mist for healthy persons ages 2-49
The hours to receive vaccine are:
8 – 11.30 a.m. and 1 – 4.30 p.m. on Mon, Tues, Wed, Thursday and Fri.
H1N1 Flu Vaccine
As of 11-05-09 Jackson County Health Department currently has H1N1 vaccine SHOTS for only two (2) of the target groups, as follows:
- Children/babies 6 Months through 35 Months
- Pregnant women
We also have H1N1 vaccine FLU MIST (nasal spray) for the target groups only.
TARGET GROUPS
- Pregnant women
- Persons who live with or provide care for infants younger than 6 months
- Health care and emergency medical services personnel
- Children and young adults aged 6 months through 24 years
- And persons aged 25 through 64 years who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications

H1N1 flu vaccine
As of October 29, 2009, the health department DOES NOT have H1N1 vaccine. Please call 587-8201 for future updates on the H1N1 vaccine status.

As of October 28, 2009, the Health Department received H1N1 flu vaccine. The H1N1 flu shots will be given ONLY to the following target groups:
- Pregnant women
- Persons who live with or provide care for infants less than 6 months of age
- Children and young adults ages 6 months – 24 years of age
- Persons 25-64 years of age who have a medical condition(s) that put them at high risk

The Health Department has a limited supply of H1N1 flu mist.
Hours for receiving a flu shot are:
8:00 am to 12 noon and 1:00 pm to 5 pm – Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
8:00 am to 12 noon and 1:00 pm to 7pm – Thursdays

Prohibited:
- Smoking will not be allowed in enclosed areas of almost all restaurants and bars.
- Smoking will not be allowed in enclosed areas of lodging establishments, such as hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, and inns, if the establishment prepares and serves food or drink.
